Meriden Man Charged With Public Indecency: Police

A man has been charged on accusations that he exposed himself to a store employee, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man has been charged with public indecency after an incident at Ocean State Job Lot, according to police. Martin Gomez, 24, of 73 Farnes Ave., was charged with public indecency and breach of peace.

According to police, a manager at Ocean State Job Lot at 1231 E. Main St. called around 4 p.m. The manager reported that a female employee had left the store, then reentered the store a short while later visibly shaken and upset.

While outside in the parking lot, the woman was waiting for her ride when a man whistled at her. When she looked at him, he was touching himself inappropriately and he had his genitals exposed for the victim to see.

The man left the area in his car prior to police arriving. However, based on the description of the suspect and his vehicle, police located him a short time later.

Gomez was released after posting a $7,500 bond. He will appear in court June 1.
