Meriden Man Facing Gun, Drug Charges

A man is facing gun and drug charges, according to police.

MERIDEN, CT — A Meriden man was arrested on a gun charge early Sunday morning, according to police. Joshua Williams, 25, of 153 Crown St., was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, carrying a pistol without a permit, weapon in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, interfering with an officer, reckless driving, and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Police were conducting a commercial burglary on Colony Street at 4:36 a.m. when they spotted a car matching the suspect vehicle. Police made contact with the driver and during investigation found a loaded gun and marijuana in the car.

Based on Williams's criminal history he is prohibited from possessing a firearm and was taken into custody, according to police.

Williams was processed and released after posting a $100,000 bond.
