Meriden Man Found With 11 Pounds Of Pot, $7k In Cash: CSP
Police said the man also had five cell phones on his person.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A Meriden man was arrested with over 11 pounds of pot after he was stopped on I-91 North in North Haven Wednesday night. State police said they stopped Joel F. Cruz, 34, in his Jeep Grand Cherokee failing to stay in his lane.
Police smelled the drugs and found 11.5 pounds of marijuana, four cell phonse and $6,831 in cash during the search. They found another cell phone on Cruz, and arrested him.
He was charged with possession with intent to sell one kilogram or more of cannabis, possession of a controlled substance and failure to drive in the proper lane on a multiple-lane highway.

He was released on a $50,000 bond and given a court date of Dec. 26.
