Meriden Police: Construction To Impact Entrance At Maloney High

The work on Gravel Street will begin on Dec. 2.

A press release from the Meriden Police Department:

Please be advised that beginning on Monday, Dec. 2, construction work will begin in the roadway directly out in front of Maloney High School on Gravel Street.

The roadway will be reduced down to one lane of travel and there will be two uniformed officers controlling the flow of traffic in the area. This work is necessary in order to tie in the new construction to the existing water main.

The work is scheduled to begin at 7:30 a.m. and last until approximately 3:00 p.m. each day. The duration of the job is only scheduled to last around three days or so; however, given the fact that the job will interfere with both early morning school drop offs and school dismissal, we are asking that you post this in the paper in order to notify everyone who may be effected.

The Meriden Police Department would encourage parents to pick up their children on Margerie Street or Parkway Place as opposed to the front of the school during this time of construction.
