Meriden's Michael Buckley Live! with Kelly This Morning

When you turn on _Live! with Kelly_ this morning at 9 a.m. a familiar face will greet you on the stage next to host Kelly Ripa.

Meriden resident and Xavier graduate , 37, will make his _national talk show debut this morning_ after competing in a weeks long contest for the right to co-host daytime talk show. The gig is only one-day but Buckley said in a video he posted on YouTube Monday that he'd be happy to make it more long term.

In the video, Buckley said that today's show is a "big challenge now… I have to sit next to Kelly and I just need to, you know, win over America.”

"This is what I’ve been training for, waiting for my whole life," he said, crediting much of his skill to his YouTube training; Buckley hosts a nearly daily web-based celebrity talk show called What the Buck!? on YouTube.

Over the past week, Buckley _ with the other finalists of the Coast-to-Coast Co-Host contest hosted by the show, all vying for the chance to help run the show for one day. In his video, Buckley said he felt good throughout the competition, remarking that only during one of the final challenges, the improv section involving the green screen, did he feel that he was off his game.

Before signing off to go pack for his trip to New York City, Buckley thanked his viewers and fans, saying that this is "one of the most wonderful, magical days of my life."

The Live! with Kelly show is broadcast in Connecticut weekdays from 9 a.m. - 10 am. on WFSB, Channel 3.
