Meriden Woman Killed In Crash In Wallingford
One person was killed and four others were hospitalized after a crash that closed the road for more than five hours Tuesday in Wallingford.
WALLINGFORD, CT — One person was killed and four others were hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash Tuesday night in Wallingford.
The crash happened around 7:40 p.m. at the intersection of Route 68 at North Main Extension. A Jeep Wrangler heading east on Route 68 collided with a Honda CRV that was traveling north on North Main Street Extension, according to police.
The driver of the Honda CRV, identified as Karen Gabriel, 58, of Meriden, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Three other people in the Honda were injured and taken to the hospital.

The driver of the Jeep was also injured and taken to the hospital. There was a passenger in the Jeep who wasn’t injured.
Route 68 and North Main Street Extension were closed for more than five hours for an investigation, according to Sgt. David Blythe.
