MidState Medical Center physician named a Healthcare Hero by Connecticut Hospital Association

Dr. Gary Dee, a radiologist at MidState Medical Center, was recognized as a 2014 Healthcare Hero on June 18 at the Connecticut Hospital Association’s Annual Meeting Awards. Dr. Dee is among 40 doctors, nurses, volunteers, patients and caregivers who were acknowledged this year. Traditionally, the Healthcare Heroes Awards honor ten notable caregivers nominated by their colleagues, but this year’s award was changed to honor all those who contributed their time and energy to the Care We Can Count On initiative, which tells the story of great hospital care in Connecticut. Dr. Dee has been on staff with MidState since 1985. He frequently lobbies on Capitol Hill in Washington and locally in Hartford as a voice for physicians and hospitals. Additionally, he has held numerous leadership positions within MidState Medical Center, Hartford HealthCare, and the Connecticut Radiology Society. In December 2013, MidState Medical Center presented him with the David W. Parke, MD Leadership Award.
