Obituary: Angel M. Rivera Otero, 70, of Meriden
Angel, known for his loving and radiating personality, cherished the outdoors, music and especially his family.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Angel M. Rivera Otero, 70, of Meriden, passed away into eternal life at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, Wednesday, March 24, 2021 with his family by his side after battling a brief illness.
Angel was born in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, May 31, 1950, a son of Guadalupe Otero and Carlos Rivera and resided in Meriden for many years.
Angel had a love for plants and spring was his favorite season. If he was not outside, he would be inside cracking jokes and playing tricks.

His energy radiated through the whole room. He had a love for music and would sing and make up songs throughout the whole house. Angel loved to be in the presence of his grandchildren who meant the world to him. His family will miss him very much.
He is survived by his brother, Carlos Rivera; his daughter, Denise Rivera; his wife, Haydee Rivera; his grandchildren, Nyasia Rivera and her boyfriend Joshua Morales, Jadrien Cruz, Jymani Cruz, Joshua Rivera, Mia Rivera and Caden Hall; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son, Edgardo Rivera.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for all the care and support in this difficult time.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 N. Main St. Ext., on Monday, March 29th from 9:45 am to 11:15 am.
Due to COVID capacity restrictions, his funeral mass at St. Rose of Lima at 12 pm will be private for family, but friends may view a livestream located on his online obituary page at www.wallingfordfh.com
All are welcome to gather for the committal service at Walnut Grove Cemetery at approximately 1 pm. Social distancing and masks will be required at all of the services.
