Obituary: George A. "Uncle George" Ackerbloom Jr., 60, of Meriden
George worked in construction for many years, was an accomplished poet, avid fisherman and golfer.

MERIDEN, CT - (From Meriden Memorial Funeral Home) George A. "Uncle George" Ackerbloom Jr., 60, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 13, 2021.
George was born in Southington, February 26, 1961, a son of the late George A. Ackerbloom Sr. and Jean (Pavlowski) Ackerbloom.
He had been employed in construction for many years. In his free time George enjoyed being outside golfing and fishing. He had a love for writing poetry, even winning an award for one of his poems.
He enjoyed his many collections and keepsakes. George loved spending time with and caring for his cats and dogs.
He is survived by his loving sisters and brothers; Mary Jean Pardo, Michael Ackerbloom, Denise Russell all of Meriden, Ricky Ackerbloom and David Loomis of Plantsville. His nieces and nephews; Jasmine, Richard, Jessica, Shevon, Dana, Justin, Katherine, Taylor; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
His family will receive relatives and friends at the Meriden Memorial Funeral Home, 450 Broad St., Meriden, on Tuesday May 18th between the hours of 9:00a.m and 1:00p.m Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to the funeral home to assist with the cost of funeral expenses.
