Popular Meriden Pizzeria Closes Its Doors
A popular Meriden establishment is closing after five years in business.
MERIDEN, CT — Laudano's Apizza will be closing its doors after five years in business. However, owners said that this was not the end "but the beginning of something bigger."
A post on Laudano's Facebook page reads: "Hi to all our loyal customers, we are sorry to inform you that we will be closing our doors . We want to THANK YOU all for making our family part of your family over the past 5 years. This is not the end, but the beginning of something bigger! Something where we can bring all our family favorites to you without walls. Until then STAY SAFE and MUCH LOVE!"
The post garnered more than 150 likes and nearly 100 comments. One fan said: "Hmmm this post is super sad. You know how much we love you. But I can’t wait to hear what you have lined up."

The classic New Haven-style pizza gets mostly strong scores from reviewers on Yelp. One reviewer said: "Just moved to Meriden from New Haven and was worried that we would not find good pizza. Laudano's did not disappoint. "
The pizzeria had been open during the pandemic for takeout but closed early June 22, according to The Record Journal.
