Third and Fourth Phase of Meriden Linear Trail Project Make Progress

The city is looking for someone qualified to design the third and fourth phase of the trail.

The Meriden Purchasing Department has asked interested firms to submit their credentials to design the third and fourth phase of the linear trail, the Record-Journal reports.

The city will accept submissions until Nov.19.

According to the paper, earlier this year the City Council approved $170,000 as part of the city budget’s capital improvement project fund to finance trail design.

Associate City Engineer Howard Weissberg told the paper he hopes to have designs completed by next Spring as the finished designs will help the city determine the final costs of completing the next two phases.

The aim of the linear trails is to create a network of non-motorized, multi-purpose trails in the City of Meriden.
