A lot happened this week with the case involving the robbery and shooting death of a local convenience store owner. The alleged killer, Frankie Resto, turned himself into to police in Brooklyn, NY, was extradited back to Meriden and was presented in court on Friday. He is being held on a $3 million bond and is charged with felony murder, among other charges.Â

The $107.4 million design and budget plan for renovation of Maloney High School was approved by the school building committee and will be sent to the full school board for its consideration on Tuesday night. The plan does not include a full-fly system for the school auditorium.

There is an increasing number of "new homeless" in Meriden and across the state. At Shelter NOW, which has 26 beds for men, 12 beds for single women, and eight rooms for mothers with up to three children and is located downtown, there are more than 50 people currently staying there.
He made it! Meriden resident Michael Buckley made it to the final 5 for a chance to co-host the Live! with Kelly show later this month. Beginning on Monday, July 16, the Buckley and the other finalists will appear on the show for a series of competitions and eliminations to win the grand prize of co-hosting with Ripa for a day.
