Westfield Meriden Mall Sold To New Owner, Renamed

Westfield Meriden Mall will have a new name and new owners.

MERIDEN, CT — Westfield Meriden Mall has been sold to new owners and will go by the new name Meriden Mall, NBC CT reported. The buyer, Namdar Realty Group, announced the acquisition of the Lewis Avenue mall on Friday.

Business will continue as usual during the transition to new ownership.

Westfield had operated the mall since 1994.

Namdar Realty Group currently operates 260 retail properties in 33 states across the country, according to its website.

Westfield Meriden has experienced tough times in recent years. Last year, three national retailers that were experiencing financial trouble all closed: Charlotte Russe, Things Remembered, and Payless Shoe Source.

The mall's Macy's also closed in March of this year.

The mall is currently open on a special schedule Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 6 p.m.
