Your Guide to Pick-Your-Own Christmas Trees

A brochure from the Connecticut Christmas Tree Growers Association and CT Department of Agriculture lists 75 locations in the state.

If you prefer a fresh Christmas tree over an artificial one, you’re at odds with a majority of the American public.

According to polls by ABC News and The Washington Post, about 60 percent of Americans set up fake trees for the holidays. But if you’re among those who prefer the pleasant scent of a freshly-cut balsam fir, you’ll need to know where to get them in your area.

Buying real trees helps support small local farmers, and at the end of the holiday season, the trees can be mulched up and used to feed plants or for some other environmentally friendly purpose.
