1 Driver Seriously Injured In Head-On Naugatuck Crash: Police

The driver of the second vehicle also was injured in the Monday night crash on New Haven Road, according to police.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A two-vehicle, head-on crash in Naugatuck Monday left one person with life-threatening injuries, according to police. The crash occurred at about 8 p.m. in the 900 block of New Haven Road.

Naugatuck police said that according to the initial investigation, a 2016 Toyota Scion, driven northbound by Bethany resident Nicole Silva, 26, crossed over the center line "for an unknown reason" and crashed into a southbound vehicle, driven by New Milford resident Ramon Leite, 35.

Silva was rushed to St. Mary's Hospital with life-threatening injuries; her condition was not available. Leite suffered injuries not considered a threat to his life.

The crash temporarily closed a portion of New Haven Road Monday night, and the investigation is continuing.
