3 Seriously Injured In Fiery 1-Vehicle Crash In Naugatuck: Police

The crash occurred early Friday at the intersection of Aetna and Hoadley streets.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Three people were seriously injured early Friday when the Jeep Liberty they were in crashed into a stone wall and caught on fire at the intersection of Aetna and Hoadley streets in Naugatuck, according to police and fire officials.

The injuries suffered by Middlebury resident Tyler Posser, 25, and Naugatuck residents Derek Ritter, 26, and David Roskosky, 22, were not disclosed, but the three had to be extricated from the burning vehicle by firefighters, police said.

All three were being treated at area hospitals, but their current conditions were not available. The fire was quickly extinguished by Naugatuck firefighters.

Posser was driving the vehicle when the 1:30 a.m. crash occurred at the T-type intersection.

The Naugatuck Valley Collision Investigation Team is investigating the crash and, among other things, is reviewing "mapping, evidence analysis, at-scene investigation, and technical analysis of the collision," according to police.
