Another Liquor Store Burglarized In Naugatuck: Police

NAUGATUCK, CT — Thieves stole several bottles of liquor early Wednesday after they broke into Salem Wine & Spirits on New Haven Road in Naugatuck, according to police.

The value of the stolen alcohol was not disclosed, and police also did not say whether anything else was taken from the store.

Naugatuck police said the burglary occurred at about 4:30 a.m., and they broke in by prying open the front door.

The thieves also appeared to break into the Allstate insurance office next door by smashing a front window, but whether anything was taken from the business was not known.

Wednesday's liquor store break-in was the second such burglary on New Haven Road in Naugatuck in a month, following a break-in at Valley Liquors.

And Naugatuck police said that similar burglaries have occurred in other nearby communities.

"It should be noted that similar incidents occurred earlier this morning in Orange and Monroe involving four suspects operating a gray Kia (possibly Sportage)," Naugatuck police said. "At this time, each of these investigations are open and active."
