Black Bear Tranquilized in Waterbury Mall Parking Lot
The bear was spotted at about noon Thursday.

Waterbury, CT — A black bear wandered into the parking lot of the Brass Mills Mall in Waterbury early Thursday afternoon, and members of the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection tranquilized it before it came into contact with any people.
The bear was then transported to a remote location and released, reports Fox61 News.
Estimates place the bear at about 225 pounds.

In a separate incident, a black bear was spotted in a tree in Woodbury Wednesday morning near Route 6, but it ran off after about an hour.Â
