The Path Towards A Cure: Connecting Patients with Science

EndoFound to host virtual 2021 International Patient Conference on March 19-21

The Endometriosis Foundation of America (EndoFound) is partnering with The International Society for Gynecologic Endoscopy (ISGE) to hold the annual Global Patient Conference: The Path Toward a Cure. The conference will be held virtually from Friday, March 19, 2021 to Sunday, March 21, 2021. The virtual conference will be offered in several different time zones and will include panels by experts in fields ranging from extrapelvic endometriosis and fertility to mental health and nutrition. The conference is scheduled as part of Endometriosis Awareness Month.

Patient Day was created for and inspired by endometriosis patients and we invite you to share this day with your loved ones and support network. Those interested in Patient Day programming can sign up for free at https://www.endofound.org/patientday/register.

EndoFound co-founders Tamer Seckin, MD and Padma Lakshmi; Dr. Neil Johnson, President of the World Endometriosis Society; endometriosis global influencer and founder of the World Endometriosis Organization (WEO), Deborah Bush; author and speaker, Jessica Murnane; and Doris Murimi, CEO at Endo Sisters East Africa Foundation, and endometriosis patients including actress Kym Jackson and chef and author Judy Joo.

Patient advocates, nutritionists, pain specialists, acupuncturists, and mental health professionals share their expert advice, along with patients sharing their stories and their toolkits for advocacy, management, and support.

Endometriosis education is needed now more than ever. Endometriosis impacts 1 in 10 – 200 million individuals worldwide. Endometriosis affects people mostly in their reproductive years and can even affect adolescents who have just started to have their periods. There is currently NO cure for endometriosis and many often experience, on average, 7-10 years to receive a proper diagnosis. The only accurate way to identify the disease is through a pathology of tissue removed during surgery.

The event is scheduled on Friday, March 19, 2021 to Sunday, March 21, 2021. Register for free at https://www.endofound.org/patientday/register.
