Firefighters Rescue Injured Hiker At State Park In Naugatuck
The hiker suffered a leg injury Monday at High Rock State Park in Naugatuck.
NAUGATUCK, CT — A hiker who suffered a leg injury at High Rock State Park in Naugatuck was rescued by firefighters using a stokes basket and an all-purpose vehicle, according to Naugatuck fire officials.
Firefighters were sent to the park at about 2:30 p.m. on a report of an injured hiker, and found him on a path about three-quarters of a mile from the road.
"NFD personnel [hiked] into access the patient and began treatment," fire officials wrote on Facebook.

"The patient was placed in a stokes basket and was loaded onto the APV. The patient was transferred to Beacon Hose Ambulance and was transported to the hospital with a left leg injury."
