The silicone straws won't melt in your drink like a paper straw or hurt your teeth like a stainless steel straw. They are dishwashers safe, can be boiled or washed by hand; no brushes or tools are required. A six pack of the ocean drinkware series are sold for $9. Single straws in two sizes are sold in a handy tin case.
