Hazmat Incident Led To Naugatuck Road Closure

Police shared new details concerning the incident.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Naugatuck Police assisted Naugatuck Fire Department with traffic control and maintaining a "scene perimeter" while the Fire Department investigated what was determined to be a minor hazmat incident at the former Yofarm facility at 162 Spring Street, police said.

"Due to the nature of the initial call, there were required safety protocols and procedures resulting in a prolonged presence on scene until the situation could be resolved," police said.

The road is now reopened.

NAUGATUCK, CT — Emergency Services have closed Spring Street in the area of the 160 block while the fire department investigates an incident in the area. Motorists are requested to avoid the area.
