Mike's Pizza Palace In Naugatuck Gets Praise In Barstool Review

NAUGATUCK, CT — Mike's Pizza Palace at 28 Church St. received a visit and review from Barstool Sports founder David Portnoy this week. Portnoy's pizza reviews are famous and he always qualifies them by saying "one bite and everyone knows the rules."

Portnoy was joined by special guest judge, Debbie, the Uber driver. Mike's Pizza Palace has been a mainstay in Naugatuck for 41 years.

During the 5-minute video, Portnoy notes that the pizza is "very thick" and says it could be cut with a "machete." Debbie dived right into the pizza, which Portnoy successfully predicted would burn her.

Debbie said the cheese was very good and Portnoy also said the pizza was pretty good. Debbie noted the pizza wasn't greasy. Debbie gave Mike's a 7.1 review and Portnoy said that was a little too high and he gave them a 6.6 review.

Portnoy said when he returns to Connecticut, Debbie will pick out new places for them to visit and review together.

On Mike's Pizza Palace's social media page, numerous customers left stellar reviews of the pizzeria.
