Motor Vehicle Accident Investigation Leads To DUI Charges: Naugatuck Police

Police say they responded to the accident on Dec. 6.

Naugatuck police said they responded to a motor vehicle accident on 1221 New Haven Road at around 1:14 p.m. on Dec. 6.

The vehicle struck a rock on the side of the road, according to police.

Timothy Crelan, the driver of the vehicle, 51, of 165 Horton Hill Rd. was found to be under the influence of alcohol, police said.

Crelan is charged with operation of a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive in the proper lane.

Crelan was given a court date of Dec. 17 at Waterbury Superior Court and released on $500 bond.
