This year the Naugatuck Police Department, along with our community, is hosting its first National Night Out. The National Night out is “America’s Night Out Against Crime”. The date for this year’s event is Tuesday, August 3rd, at Linden Park, located at 150 North Main Street in Naugatuck. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.

The purpose of National Night Out is to promote police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer and more caring place to live. The event also facilitates the following:

  • Promotes emergency and disaster preparedness
  • Heightens crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generates support for, and participation in local anti-crime programs
  • Sends a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

This event is completely free to our community. Therefore, we rely on support from you, our local businesses and organizations, to make it happen. The donations given make a direct impact on our community, both in the experience of National Night Out, and in the lasting relationships between the police department and those we serve.
