Naugatuck Man To Join CT Veterans Hall Of Fame: Report

Sailor John DeBisschop is next to receive the prestigious honor.

John DeBisschop, Naugatuck resident and veteran sailor, is set to be inducted into the the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame, according to a report by the Republican-American, who also reports the Hall of Fame was started in 2005 as an effort to increase recognition of veterans with lifetime service records.

There are 104 veterans in Connecticut’s Hall of Fame and around 12,000 total in the entire state.

DeBisschop serves as chairman of the Naugatuck Veterans Council and will be inducted during a Nov. 30 ceremony, according to a report from the Republican-American.

DeBisschop will be the fourth person from Naugatuck in the Hall of Fame. He’s been instrumental in the Naugatuck Memorial Day Parade and has placed flags on the grave sites of veterans from Naugatuck, the Rep-Am reports.
