Naugatuck Schools Come Together to Help Local Boy Diagnosed with Cancer
Andrew Avenue Elementary School and Hillside Intermediate have helped raise money for the boy's family.

Two Naugatuck schools have done all they can to support a student diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.
Christian Michael Caruso, a 10-year-old student at Hillside Intermediate School was diagnosed with the disease in October, Paul Singley reports for the Republican-American. Christian’s old school, Andrew Avenue Elementary decided to organize “Team Christian” and asked Hillside to join along.
The two schools have sold thousands of purple ‘Team Christian’ ribbons to raise money for Christian’s family, the paper reports. Christian’s teacher, John Forish even allowed Christian to shave his head during a pep rally.

Christian will be undergoing chemotherapy treatment for 8 months and is expected to make a full recovery.
