Naugatuck in Top 10 of Weekly High School Football Poll

The Greyhounds shut out Wolcott 14-0 to start the 2018 season on a winning note.

NAUGATUCK, CT — A 28-0 whitewash of perennial powerhouse New Canaan provided St. Joseph High School with enough voter support to top the weekly poll of Connecticut sports media after the first weekend of football season.

The Cadets received 12 first-place votes among the 31 ballots cast to edge runner-up Greenwich, which topped 10 ballots. Darien (5), Daniel Hand (3) and Killingly (1) also received first-place nods.

Naugatuck placed ninth after shutting out Wolcott, 14-0.
