Naugatuck Youth Soccer Team Wins Tournment

Naugatuck Youth Soccer U11 Boys, Naugatuck Elite Extreme won the Seaside Classic, South County Rhode Island Soccer Tournament July 13 & 14th sweeping all four games and outscoring opponents 17-4.

Naugatuck’s Zach Koslosky, Branden Lage, Nelson Lavoura, Fred Longo, Alex Manasoiu, Brian Portela, Brian Silva and Matthew Smith combined for 17 goals for the tournament.  Naugatuck’s defense was just as strong Goalies Michael Connan and Brandon Sampaio limited opponents to just 4 goals for the tournament with the help of a rock solid defense led Zach Koslosky, Dylan Gloden and Matthew Smith. Eduardo Garcia also contributed.    

“I am very proud of my team they worked hard all season and continued to get better, I want to thank them for their hard work and a special thank you to my Assistant Coach Daniel Lavoura who helped to develop these boys skills.  We may only be a town travel team, but I would put these boys up against any premier team and this past weekend proves it,” said Glenn Connan, Head Coach.

In lieu of trophies for the winners, a check for $3,000 was issued to Newtown Youth Soccer Club in the name Naugatuck Elite Extreme and the Seaside Classic Champions.
