Obituary: Alan S. Carneiro, 67, of Waterbury

Alan was a machinist by trade, working for many years at the New Haven Copper Company in Seymour, before retiring from WalMart in Naugatuck.

“Beloved father, grandfather & brother”

WATERBURY, CT - Mr. Alan S. Carneiro, 67, passed away peacefully at Waterbury Hospital on Friday, March 12, 2021 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Diana (Houseknecht) Carneiro.

Alan was born in Waterbury on June 20, 1953, a son of the late Adelino and Lillian T. (Moran) Carneiro. Alan was a machinist by trade and work for many years at the New Haven Copper Company in Seymour, CT, before retiring after 15 years from Walmart in Naugatuck. Alan was an avid fisherman, and along with his family would enjoy many times fishing together. Most of his happiest moments was spending time with his grandson, Tristan. Alan loved and supported his children no matter what, and was strong willed and a hard worker.

Alan leaves his two sons, Steven M. Carneiro and Eric L. Carneiro both of Waterbury, a daughter, Amanda L. Carneiro of Bristol, his one grandson which he adored, Tristan Carneiro-Gorlo, one brother, Jeffrey Carneiro of New Haven, five sisters, Crystalyn Stanco of Waterbury, Linda Wallace and her husband, Ken of Ormond Beach, FL, Serena Scozzafava of Daytona Beach, FL, Brenda Carneiro-White of Daytona Beach, FL and Tracy Carneiro of Bristol. He was predeceased by two sisters, Melissa Ann Carneiro and Lita Kazlauskas, his two grandmothers, Elizabeth Moran, Claire Gonsolves and a niece, Jean Kazlauskas.

Arrangements: A funeral service with the cremains present will be held 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours for Alan will be held on Monday, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
