WATERBURY, CT - Alice Dolores Freyre, 88, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on March 30, 2021 at Apple Rehabilitation in Watertown.

Alice Freyre was born in New York, NY, on October 27, 1932, a daughter of the late Abraham and Efigenia (Negron) Freyre. She was a graduate of Mattatuck Community College and Western Connecticut State University. She spent her early years working at the New York Hilton, New York Public Library and Chase Manhattan Bank. Later, she worked for Welmade of California until she retired to help care for her aging mother, whom she adored.

Alice was a devoted sister who always looked after her younger siblings, continuously inspiring them to achieve their goals. She was an avid reader, loved good music and watching movies, and enjoyed good conversations with her neighbors. She had a passion for spending time with her nieces and nephews and looked forward to visiting with them, especially during the holidays. Quick-witted with a friendly smile, she was known to be feisty and lived a full life. She always lived in the moment and could be counted on during challenging times. Alice will be deeply missed by her friends, family and all those who knew her. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.

Ms. Freyre was predeceased by her sister Irene Nezhad. She is survived by her sister Edna Allen along with her brother Joseph Freyre and his wife Donna. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews; Joseph Freyre Jr., Christina Creeden, Janet Band, Juliet Seymour, Michael Nezhad, Steven Nezhad, Brian Allen, and Michelle Hayes – all of whom she cherished.

Arrangements: All funeral services are private and at the convenience of her family. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Wtby. is assisting her family with the arrangements.
