Obituary: Brian McCarthy, 34, of Naugatuck

Brian lived life to the fullest, every day was an adventure.

Brian McCarthy, 34, beloved son of Gordon and Terri (Phillips) McCarthy, died as a result of a motorcycle accident on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013.

Brian was born, July 12, 1979 in Derby.  He attended the New York Military Academy and was currently a State Security Officer for Gateway Community College.  He loved his colleagues and his job.  He was previously employed with Saint Mary’s Hospital as well as Campion Ambulance. Those who knew him would describe him as a wonderful father, patient and fun loving.

Brian lived his life to the fullest, every day was an adventure. He deeply loved his family, friends and animals. The loss of Brian is deeply felt by all who knew him.

Besides being survived by his parents, Brian was the father of three beautiful children: 7-year-old Addison, 5-year-old John and 6-month-old Sawyer; survived by his aunts and uncles Toni and Don Douglas of Beacon Falls and Traci and Joseph Healy of Middlebury as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept., 13, 2013 9:15 a.m. from the Alderson Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. to St. Michael’s Episcopal Church for services at 10 a.m.  Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.  Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
