WATERBURY, CT - Diane Doris (Carignan) Gomez, age 78, passed away peacefully in her Waterbury home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021.

Diane was a graduate of Wilby High School, class of 1961, and then went on to pursue a career in nursing after graduating from Mattatuck Community College, class of 1985. For many years, Diane worked as a registered nurse, and was always full of compassion for those she cared for. She enjoyed cooking, trying unique cuisines, traveling and especially Bingo. She absolutely adored surrounding herself with family and friends.

Diane leaves behind her long-time partner, Dennis Jamele of whom she resided with, her daughters, Valerie Carignan, Angela Gomez, her grandchildren, Anthony Madigosky, Ryan Ostroski, Teven Thomas, Daelynn Mitchell, Alex Bergeron, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren, Ella Thomas and Addison Ostroski.
One of Diane’s favorite quotes was, “People who appear to be really strong are the most sensitive, those who spend their time protecting others need someone to protect them. The three hardest things to say are, I love you, I’m sorry, and I need help”. Diane will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

Arrangements: The family has entrusted Chase Parkway Memorial, The Albini Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, with the compassionate care they needed during this difficult time. All funeral arrangements are going to be held private and at the convenience of the family.
