Obituary: Donald R. Galipault, 83, of Waterbury

Donald was a mechanic by trade, and worked for Loehmanns-Blasius Chevrolet, the City of Waterbury Police Department & the Parks Department.

“Beloved husband, father & brother”

WATERBURY, CT - Mr. Donald R. Galipault, 83, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of Heaven on Friday, April 9, 2021 at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury. As the love of her life for over 60 years, he will be deeply missed by his wife, Ann Marie. He was the loving husband of Ann Marie (Sette) Galipault.

Donald was born in Waterbury on September 18, 1937, a son of the late Raymond and Annette (LaVasseur) Galipault. After Leavenworth High School, Donald joined and served in the CT Army Reserves. Donald was a mechanic by trade, and worked for Loehmanns-Blasius Chevrolet in Waterbury for over 20 years, the City of Waterbury Police Department and the Parks Department.

After retirement, Donald, worked for the Highland Greens Golf Course in Prospect for 15 years. A kind and generous soul who would stop to help a stranger fix a tire or get out of a snowbank. Donald enjoyed going to the range for target practice, golfing, boating and was a collector of odds and ends, but truly loved the time he spent with his family.

Besides his wife, Ann Marie, of 57 years, he leaves his son, John A. Galipault and his wife, Carmella, of New Hartford, his daughter, Lisa Miller and her partner, Tammy Gallo, of Farmington, his sister, Joan Carrah and her husband, Joseph, of Wolcott, a sister-in-law, Lorraine Galipault of Fort Lauderdale, FL., also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 3 brothers, Raymond, Bernard and Robert Galipault.

Arrangements: Funeral will be held Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 11:00 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to St. Michael’s Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
