“Loving husband, father, and grandfather”
Dr. Michael W. Costa, 66, of Wolcott (formerly of Waterbury), passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 27, 2021. He is the beloved husband of Anita Marie (Prestipino) Costa.

Michael was born in Barnstable, MA on August 6, 1954, son of the late Warren E. and Elizabeth (Volton) Costa. He graduated from Holy Cross College and received his O.D. from New England College of Optometry. He served as a local Optometrist for over 30 years. Michael was very family-oriented and found the greatest happiness whenever he was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong New England sports fan and especially loved the Red Sox. Through his health struggles, he maintained a great sense of humor--something that has helped his family tremendously through this tough time.
Besides his wife Anita Marie of just under 37 years, he leaves behind 3 sons, Michael W. Costa Jr. and his wife Aparna, John C. Costa and his wife Marjorie, and Daniel J. Costa and Kristen Albert; 2 daughters, Laurie Beth Costa, and Andrea Marie Costa; and his 6 adored grandchildren, Hunter, Maya, Chase, Kailash, Owen, and Layla.

In addition, he leaves behind 2 brothers, Warren William Costa and Richard Costa and his wife Amy; 2 sisters in law, Paula Pronovost and Flora Prestipino; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and a best friend, Margaret Dahill.
Arrangements: Due to COVID, his family will be celebrating his memory privately. Brookside Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
