April 29, 1936 ~ March 28, 2021 (age 84)
PROSPECT, CT - Edward P. Giacomazzo, Sr., 84, of Prospect, passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was the loving husband of Elizabeth “Betty-Lou” (Ippolito) Giacomazzo for over 60 years.

He was born on April 29, 1936 in Bronx, NY, son of the late Nunzio and Pauline (Gasparro) Giacomazzo. He proudly served his country in the US Army. Prior to his retirement, Ed worked for American Airlines maintaining aircraft for over 30 years. Ed and Betty-Lou enjoyed traveling as a family and got to see many historical landmarks in the US and abroad. A treasured family tradition was attending the American Airlines yearly family picnic. Ed and Betty Lou liked to dance and take trips to the casinos in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, New Orleans and Connecticut. Ed will be truly missed by his loving family and friends.
Ed is survived by three sons; Edward Giacomazzo, Jr. and wife Lucille of Naugatuck, Anthony Giacomazzo of Carmel, NY and James Giacomazzo and wife Dena of Southbury; Ed was affectionately known as Pepa to his five granddaughters; Anjelica, Cassondra, Victoria, Rebecca and Sarah.
He was predeceased by a brother Salvatore Giacomazzo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Interment with full military honors will follow at the CT State Veterans Cemetery, Bow Lane, Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 6-8 pm at the Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Rd., Prospect. All CDC and state COVID guidelines will be adhered to.
