Obituary: Eileen Charlotte Rossi, 82, of Beacon Falls

Eileen was a woman of strong faith who stayed close to God throughout her lifetime.

Eileen Charlotte Rossi, 82, of Beacon Falls, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 2nd at The Ivy at Watertown, where she had resided for the last year. Born in Waterbury on May 18, 1939, she was the only daughter of the late Andrew and Ellen (Koerber) Toshack. Eileen loved her childhood town of Beacon Falls and was proud of her family’s history there which traced back to the 1900’s; she was the last of the Koerber family to live in Beacon Falls.

Eileen was a woman of strong faith who stayed close to God throughout her lifetime; she was a faithful parishioner of Beacon Falls Congregational Church and taught Sunday school to the children of the parish. Later in her life, she married Robert D. Rossi; the couple made their home in Wallingford, sharing much happiness together until his untimely passing on March 12, 1997. Following Robert’s passing, Eileen returned to Beacon Falls where she was honored to be a caregiver to her mother and to her uncle until they both passed away.
Eileen worked for Peter Paul Candy/Cadbury Beverages in Naugatuck for over 20 years before retiring. She was a former longtime member of the Laurel Garden Club of Beacon Falls and also a member of the fraternal organization, Daughters of Scotia, where she proudly celebrated her Scottish heritage.

Eileen is survived by her special cousin, Paul Koerber of North Carolina and several extended family members as well as many close friends who she loved dearly. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Thomas & Marcella Rossi and Anita & Alexander Aduskevicz as well as several beloved cousins and other family members.

Eileen’s loved ones will receive relatives and friends in Beacon Falls Congregational Church, 69 Wolfe Ave, Beacon Falls, CT on Thursday, July 8th from 10:00 – 11:00am with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am; burial in St. John’s Cemetery, Christian St., Wallingford will follow.
