WATERBURY, CT - Gertrude “Trudy” (Bouffard) Bouchard, age 86, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of Ronald Bouchard for 68 years.

Trudy was born on October 1, 1934 in Waterbury, CT, daughter of the late Albert and Irene (Gauthier) Bouffard. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, Class of 1952 and was a devoted parishioner of the Shrine of St. Anne for Mothers. Prior to her retirement, Trudy worked for Scovill Manufacturing and later in the guidance office for W.F. Kaynor Technical High School. She enjoyed roller skating and was in a bowling league for many years. She enjoyed painting, playing piano and writing poetry. Most of all, Trudy cherished spending time with her family and travelling all over the world with her husband.

Besides her husband, Ronald of Waterbury, Trudy leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters, Kimberly Bouchard-Shapiro and her husband, Dr. Philip Shapiro of Durham, Robin (Bouchard) Martin of Waterbury, granddaughter, Gina Irene Curtis, step grandsons, Adam and David Shapiro, brother, Maurice Bouffard and his wife, Victoria of Watertown and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Alaina Rose Curtis and brother, Richard Bouffard.

Arrangements: Trudy’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:00 AM from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT to The Shrine of St. Anne for Mothers for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday morning from 9:00 - 10:00 AM at the funeral home.
