Gloria was born in Waterbury on January 4, 1941, daughter of the late Michael and Philomena “Mae” (DeVito) Carpinella. She later worked as the office manager of her husband’s dental office, where her greetings and cheerful affect made patients’ visits to the dentist much more enjoyable.
Gloria brought her own brand of elegance to everything she did, from cooking, decorating, hosting holidays, and painting far away places, to how she carried herself with strangers or close companions alike and most especially, how she loved everyone.
