Naugatuck - Judith “Judy” R. Silkowski, 75, passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late William J. Silkowski.

Judy was born June 11, 1945, in Waterbury, the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Hubbard) Pelzer. She was raised in Waterbury and graduated from Croft High School. Judy was a 25 year employee of the Naugatuck Fire Department serving as an Administrative Assistant before becoming a Dispatcher. As a Dispatcher she was a proud member of the Local #1219. She enjoyed knitting, crafting and Kayaking in ME. Anyone that knew Judy would always speak of her sense of humor and her infectious laugh.

Judy’s family would like to thank the staff at Waterbury Hospital especially the staff of the ICU.

Judy is survived by her daughters Christine Klezun-Ladewig and her husband Norman Ladewig of WI, Stephanie Klezun and her wife Sharon Raymond of Oakville, and Arlene Ricciardi of FL; her 12 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Judy is predeceased by her brothers Paul and John Pelzer.

Arrangements – Funeral services and committal will be held at a later date. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Naugatuck Firefighters Local 1219 Sunshine Club, P.O. Box 571, Naugatuck, CT 06770.
