Obituary: Katherine “Katie” Consalvo, 53, of Watertown

WATERTOWN - Katherine “Katie” Consalvo, 53, of Watertown, died Thursday, June 3rd, at her home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Brian Consalvo.
Katie was born in Waterbury on October 16th, 1967, the daughter of Dan and Betsy (Grover) Simons of Watertown. She was a graduate of Watertown High School and received her Bachelor’s degree from Western CT State University.
Katie was totally dedicated to her family and her community. She was a familiar face at many sporting events, fundraisers, and school activities. She left her mark on PTO's, Circle of Sports, School Booster Clubs, Project Graduation and other organizations throughout town. She did not just help out but more importantly she took great responsibility in all her roles to make sure everything ran smoothly and successfully.
Among all the roles that Katie played, the most important role was Mom. She instilled the importance of family values and education. As a result of her selflessness, her children are following in her footsteps by giving back to the community. Katie was so proud of all the accomplishments made by her children.
Besides her parents and her husband of 23 years, Katie leaves a son Andrew Consalvo; a daughter Emily Consalvo; a brother Dan Simons and his wife Eve of Midlothian, VA; a sister Diane Bristol and her husband Pete of Watertown; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning 10 a.m., at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church and reminded that masks are required in the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Platt Road. Calling hours will be held Thursday evening, 5-7 p.m., at theHickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St.
