WATERBURY, CT - Marie C. (Rossetti) Latimer, 91, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven on April 6, 2021, at the LiveWell Nursing Facility in Plantsville. She was the loving wife of R. Marie leaves behind four highly educated daughters to cherish her memory: Linda Latimer of Hamden, CT, Carrie Lutkus and her husband Bill of Southington, CT, Jean Latimer and her husband Stephen Grant of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Mary Latimer of Arlington, VA. She also leaves behind her three grandchildren, Schaefer Grant, Alexander Rickert, (wife Genisa), Ian Rickert (wife Katie), and her three great-grandchildren, William, Eliza and Davianne Rickert. She was pre-deceased by her siblings, Louis, Andrew, and Elisa Rossetti and grandson, Will Rickert.

Marie was a strong, intelligent woman who instilled in her children and grandchildren the values of a strong work ethic, a positive attitude and determination in achieving what you want in life. She had a good sense of humor, a social nature, and approached life with optimism. She was a nurturing and supportive mother and grandmother. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her young children, baking apple pies in the Autumn and participating in their school activities. She added richness to the childhood of her grandkids. She took them on little adventures… to Tara Farm in Watertown to see the animals and pick tomatoes, to Laurel Ledge at Lake Quassapaug to swim and fish, to Howland Hughes in downtown Waterbury to shop with her and explore the wonders of an old fashioned department store. The grandkids were always welcome for”sleepovers at Gramma’s” and as they grew into their teenage years, Gramma always had room at the table with a bowl of pasta and sauce for their friends as well. She was a loyal and caring friend and a devoted daughter, sister and cousin. She will be greatly missed.
