WOLCOTT, CT - Mrs. Marjorie V. Iarrapino (Vance), 86, of Wolcott, formerly of the East End of Waterbury, passed away Monday June 21, 2021, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. Mrs. Iarrapino was born in Waterbury into a large Irish Catholic family on August 16, 1934, daughter of the late James and Josephine Vance (Sweeney). She was predeceased by her husband, Michael A. Iarrapino Sr., to whom she was married for 51 years, and her eleven older brothers and sisters.
Marjorie was educated at St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing and graduated as a Registered Nurse. She worked as an OB Nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital for many years before becoming a pioneer in the innovative new profession of traveling to homes and workplaces to perform physicals and health assessments for Insurance companies. She eventually became a manager and trainer for the Equifax Corporation in this expanding new field. In later years, she worked as a nurse at Allergy Associates until her retirement.

A longtime member of the St. Peter and Paul Madonna Guild, Marjorie was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes. She was a member of the Waterbury Area Faculty Wives and a Red Cross Blood Services volunteer, and donated her time to many charitable organizations and functions.
Marjorie competed in the Knights of Columbus bowling league for many years and was an avid golfer and an officer in the East Mountain Ladies Golf Association. She enjoyed gourmet cooking, knitting, assembling jigsaw puzzles, and solving Crosswords and Jumbles. She and her husband Mike traveled throughout the U.S. and Canada and visited her ancestral country of Ireland and made additional trips to Italy and Greece. She was an enthusiastic card player and participated in many setback and bridge tournaments at the Wolcott Senior Center, where she never missed a bus trip to one of the Connecticut casinos. As much as she enjoyed her other pursuits, her favorite leisure activity was to spend time with her grandkids.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Joanne E. Milburn and her husband, Michael, of Melbourne Beach, FL, and Judith I. Brophy and her husband, Michael, of Woodbury, two sons, Daniel J. Iarrapino and his wife Jeryl, of Waterbury, and Michael A. "Mickey" Iarrapino Jr. and his wife, Michele, of Wolcott with whom she lived. She also leaves six grandchildren, Michael, David and Megan Milburn, and Michael, Gina and Makayla Iarrapino; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Alexis and Isabella Milburn; and her beloved in-laws, Constance and William Hudner of Heritage Village.
Arrangements: A funeral will be held 8:45 a.m. Monday from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury to Mary Mother of the Church Parish - SS. Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Road Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
