Waterbury, CT - Ms. Mary E. Evon, 59, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven on Sunday April 25, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family after a courageous journey with metastatic colon cancer.
Mary was born in Waterbury on July 15, 1961, daughter of Lena (Mancini) Evon of Waterbury and the late Arnold J. Evon Sr. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School Class of 1979. She worked in accounts payable in the finance industry starting with Colonial Bank and Trust, then with the City of Waterbury Lead and Health Department, and later with Chemtura until she was unable to work in February of 2020. She loved and adored her family as well as her cat “Noel”.

Besides her mother, she leaves to cherish and honor her memory; 2 sons, Christopher Savage and his wife Jessica, and Nicholas Savage all of Waterbury; a sister Debra Dumaine and her husband Richard of Thomaston; 2 nephews, Michael and Joseph Evon of Waterbury; several aunts and cousins and a host of friends. Besides her father she was predeceased by her brother, Arnold J. Evon Jr.
Mary’s family would like to sincerely thank the entire staff of the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center as well as Dr. Kahn, Dr. Polasky, and Dr. Y. Chang for the exceptional care and treatment given to Mary during her journey.
Arrangements: Funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway Waterbury to St. Francis Xavier Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Wednesday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
