THOMASTON - Michael Christopher Hansen, 42, passed away unexpectedly on June 15, 2021.

Michael was born in Oneida, New York on October 18, 1978. He attended Canastota High School (NY) and Thomaston High School.

Michael was a skilled heavy equipment operator of IUOE Local 478 since 2008. Since he was young, he worked the family farm, drove tractors, baled hay, and raised heifers before he even had his driver’s permit. He is remembered by friends and family for his strong work ethic, generous heart, and many jokes. Michael was loved and will be deeply missed.

He is loved by his parents, Linda (Lawrence) Hansen of Thomaston, and Frank Hansen of Canastota, NY; his girlfriend Tanya Jensen and her daughter Hailie Zambero of Watertown; his sisters, Katherine DeTore and her husband John of Benbrook, TX, Diana Bernard and her husband Craig of Goshen, and Laura and her husband Jeremy Bachrach of San Francisco, CA; his nieces and nephew Hannah, Juliana, Mabel, Liam, and Alexandra; his maternal grandmother, Marion (Karolkowski) Lawrence of Southington; and too many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends to list. He was predeceased by his grandparents, William Lawrence and Alice (Allen) Hansen.

Calling hours will be Saturday from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., at Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main Street, Watertown. A funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Michael’s name to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
