Former owner of “The Cave”

WATERBURY - Robert F. (“Murph”) Wallace of Waterbury, CT, passed away unexpectedly at home on March 9, 2021, at the age of 75. He made his home for last 30 years with his partner, Barbara Boniecki.

He was born April 22, 1945, the son of the late Francis and Muriel (Ackerman) Wallace of Waterbury, Connecticut.

Robert attended Waterbury schools and received a Bachelors’ Degree from Quinnipiac University. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bob was the former owner of “The Cave” in Waterbury. He and Barb enjoyed many trips together, but always treasured their trip to Ireland. Bob was an avid Red Sox and Notre Dame fan. He always enjoyed dinner with family and his lifelong friends. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians.

Besides Barbara, Robert is survived by his children Rob Wallace (Dana) of Wolcott, Tricia Wallace of Boston, Massachusetts; his grandchildren; his siblings David Wallace (Joyce) of MA, Ann “Nancy” Wallace of SC, Patricia Barilovich (Jeff) of Naugatuck; his nieces and Barbara’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

His Funeral Mass will be Saturday March 13, 2021at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street, Waterbury. Facial masks and social distancing will be required. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. is assisting with the arrangements.
