“Loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather & great great great grandfather”

WATERBURY, CT - Mr. Robert W. Fusco Sr., 103 years young, of Waterbury, entered into the gates of heaven on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side. He was the loving husband of Lillian (Capaldo) Fusco of seventy-nine years.

Robert was born in Waterbury on December 7, 1917, son of the late Angelo and Maria Josephine (Perugini) Fusco. Growing up in Waterbury, Robert bravely served the United States Army in 1943 during World War II while stationed in Belgium. Robert later became a mason which he did for many years and then worked for the City of Waterbury Department of Education for twenty-three years until his retirement in 1983.

Besides his wife Lillian of Waterbury, Robert leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Janice Diogostine and her husband Joseph of Wolcott, Gary Fusco and his wife Michelle of Waterbury, a daughter-in-law, Linda Fusco of FL, his grandchildren, Brenda Fusco, Sandra Reily, Tamara Grimes, Robyn O’Neill and her husband Peter, Richard Galuppo, Jason Fusco, and Jonathan Fusco and his wife Jessica. He also leaves behind his great grandchildren, Katie O’Neill and her partner, Brian Marco, Peter O’Neill Jr., Julia Galuppo, his great great grandchildren, Brianna Kersey and Joseph Fusco, his great great great grandchildren, Logan Fusco, Jason Fusco, and Jessica Reily, as well as many nieces, nephews, and many wonderful friends that he has had over the years. He was predeceased by his son, Robert W. Fusco Jr., his siblings, Alfred and Domenic Fusco, Edith Rinaldi, and his grandchildren, Robert Fusco III, Allen Fusco, and John Grimes.

Robert’s family would like to thank all of the caregivers, from Companions and Homemakers, VITAS, There For You Visiting Nurses, and Hartford Healthcare Visiting Nurses, for all of the kind and compassionate care they have shown to Robert.

Arrangements: All funeral services for Robert are going to be held privately and at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Robert will be intered at Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury with full military honors. A Memorial Mass is going to announced and held at a later date to be determined. Chase Parkway Memorial, the Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, has been entrusted with handling Robert’s funeral arrangements.
