Obituary: Virginia Carole (Bell) Antey, 78, of Watertown
Her nursing career ended with the Watertown VNA and later at Waterbury Hospital for many years.

WATERTOWN - Virginia Carole (Bell) Antey, 78, died Monday, March 22, 2021, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the widow of Edward F. Davis and was also predeceased by her first husband John Antey.
Carole was born in Waterbury, December 10, 1942, daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Hartye) Bell. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Waterbury and received her RN degree from Boston Hospital School of Nursing.
Carole served four years as a nurse in the Air Force, stationed in Blytheville, AR. After leaving the Air Force, she worked at Walter Reed Army Hospital before returning to Connecticut. She continued her nursing career with the Watertown VNA and later at Waterbury Hospital for many years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church in Waterbury.
Carole is survived by stepsons, Richard Davis (Tammy) of Davidson, NC, and Robert Davis (Patty) of Aptos, CA; grandchildren Kristen (Michael) Dabbo, Kyle (Meredith) Davis, and Caitlin (Jack) Williams; and great granddaughter Madelyn Dabbo. She is also survived by her cousins, Rober W. Haigh of San Lorenzo, CA, Peggy Ramcikas, Janet Reiske, Jennifer Reiske, and Kevin Ramcikas, all of Watertown, and Christine DeCicco of Woodbury.
The family would like to recognize the care that Louise Davis has given Carole for the past several months.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Road, Waterbury. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Masks and social distancing are required in church and at the cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Hickcox Funeral Home, 195 Main St., Watertown.
