Police: Man Intimidated Son's Bullies

A local man who thought his 12-year-old son was being bullied decided to take matters into his own hands and confront the bullies himself, police say.

Carlos Stuart, 39, of 59 Ridge Road in the Lantern Park condominium complex, stood near his son's bus stop on Oct. 28 when he saw what he interpreted as two older students picking on his son, police said.

Stuart approached the two teens, who later reported to police that he intimidated them, swore at the them and attempted to antagonize them to fight him, according to a police report.

Stuart admitted to approaching the teens, but told police he did not swear and did not antagonize them to fight, police said.

He was charged by warrant Saturday with breach of peace. Stuart was given a court date of Dec. 18 after being released on a $1,000 non-surety bond. 

Stuart has a criminal history. Last December, he was charged with threatening, assault, reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct after being involved in a domestic violence incident, according to Judicial Branch records. His entered into a family violence program, and his case is awaiting disposition after a successful completion of that program, according to the Judicial Branch records.
