'Road Rage' Incident Leads To Arrest Of Truck Driver In Waterbury

The incident between two tractor trailer truck drivers occurred Wednesday on Interstate 84 near Exit 23 westbound.

WATERBURY, CT — A 54-year-old Cabool, Missouri, man was arrested on weapons and related charges Wednesday after what Connecticut State Police described as a "road rage" incident in Waterbury, during which he "brandished a handgun."

Thomas M. Colburn, a tractor trailer truck driver, was charged with carrying a pistol without a permit; illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle; illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine; second-degree breach of peace; and second-degree threatening.

Details of the 3:30 p.m. incident were not disclosed, but state police said that troopers were called to an area near Exit 23 of Interstate 84 westbound in Waterbury on a report that Colburn brandished the gun during a road rage conflict with the driver of another tractor trailer truck.

Colburn was released after posting bond on bail of $5,000, and he is scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on June 25.
